Symposium themes
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and explore practical strategies in sustainable teaching. The Organizing Committee of the UTEL Symposium, to be held at the University of Bahrain, Zallaq, Kingdom of Bahrain, on Thursday 26th June 2025, invites proposals for paper in areas relevant to the symposium’s theme: Innovative Pedagogies for a Future-Ready Higher Education: Enhancing Student Engagement, Inclusivity, and Technology-Driven Learning, including but not limited to:
- Inclusive Learning and Teaching in Higher Education
- Strategies for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching practices.
- Culturally responsive pedagogy and accessible learning environments.
- The Development of Teaching Excellence in Higher Education
- Faculty development programs and mentorship models.
- Evidence-based teaching practices for sustained academic excellence.
- Active Learning & Student Engagement
- Flipped classrooms, gamification, and project-based learning.
- Collaborative learning methods to foster deeper student engagement.
- Technology-Enhanced Learning
- AI-driven education, virtual reality, and immersive learning environments.
- Enhancing accessibility and learning outcomes through emerging technologies.
- Personalized & Adaptive Learning
- Adaptive learning platforms and individualized feedback systems.
- Data-driven approaches for tailoring learning experiences to student needs.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
The corresponding author must provide the following information in the submitted abstract:
- Contact data (correct spelling of first and last name, rank, affiliation)
- Paper Title (Full paper title for the presentation)
- A short specific title that indicates the nature of the study must be provided for the abstract:
- Please do not submit titles in ALL upper case ALL lower case.
- Submit the title in Sentence Case
- The total length of the title should be no more than 200 characters, not including spaces.
- Paper abstract should not exceed 250 words.
- Abstract must include a precise description of the study including problem, methodology, instrumentation and general findings or implications.
- Key words [5 maximum] must be provided after the abstract.
- Abstract will undergo blind review and the results will be returned to you generally within 3 weeks.
- The full paper of the accepted abstracts will be considered for possible publication in the Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences (JEPS), one of the journals published by the University of Bahrain:
- Submitted papers to the JEPS must follow the journal submission guidelines.
- Submitted papers will undergo the review policy followed by the JEPS.
Presentation methods
- Paper presentation (15 minutes): with a predominantly theoretical content; research must be connected to the thematic areas of the symposium. (Maximum two authors per paper). The oral presentation will be for 15 minutes.
Publication of manuscript
The accepted abstracts at the UTEL Symposium 2024 will also be considered for possible publication at the Journal of Educational and Psychological Sciences (JEPS), one of the UOB reputed journals, which enjoys a high academic reputation at both the Gulf region and the Middle East and North Africa for its rigorous peer-review process, standards of publication, and scope which covers macro and micro specialized topics and issues related to teaching and learning. The journal is also indexed by EBESCO and Google Scholar, which will enable those who manage to publish in it to reach a wide academic community who read and the follow the journal. The JEPS is also classified as an A journal for academic promotion purposes in some of the regional university that might facilitate the fulfilment of the scientific activities for some participants in this regard.
